Alumni of The University of the West Indies Medical School.
The University of the West Indies Medical Alumni Association (UWIMAA) supports the Faculties of Medicine and their alumni to achieve and advance clinical, medical and practice excellence. Among its priorities are giving back to support The UWI and all MBBS graduates. The Association also encourages fellowship, networking and camaraderie for the advancement and continuation of medical excellence in graduates.
The Association originated in 1988 during the University’s 40th anniversary celebrations. It represented a coming together of several existing chapters established in previous years; Barbados Chapter (1984) Canadian Chapter (1985), United States of America (US) Chapter (1986), Jamaica Chapter (1987).
Today the association boasts thousands of medical alumni among its membership.
This includes the South Florida UWIMAA.
